ZazouSwing is often hired to teach group lessons at local and regional venues. Check the “ZazouNews” section of our home page for info on current and upcoming classes.
We teach 3 types of group lessons:
Weekly Class Series - Typically 4-6 weeks in duration. Topics vary and classes typically build on each other by introducing new material but also reviewing material that was previously taught.
Workshops - Usually scheduled for a Saturday and/or Sunday, workshops are typically an hour in length and provide intense instruction and practice. We usually do 4-5 in a day, however, unlike group classes, they do not build upon each other, rather each hour focuses on a unique topic.
Beginner Lesson – Perfect for weddings, corporate events or fundraisers, a beginner lesson is an easy going, fun way to get people to interact. Lessons consist of 6-count swing (aka Jitterbug) or Charleston fundamentals. We limit ourselves to these styles because they are easy to pick up in a short amount of time and give participants a sense of satisfaction. Often we follow the lesson with a short performance.
If you are an event organizer interested in booking us, please call us at 401-854-6408 or email us at email@example.com.
An appointment is required for all private lessons. Please call or email to schedule a time.
Why Choose Private Lessons?
The best reason to choose private dance lessons over group classes is that the lesson is structured to the needs of the individual student. The teaching goes at that dancer’s pace and they are able to work on what they and their teacher think they should work on, rather than following a set curriculum.
Another common reason is that private lessons offer nuance and detail that cannot easily be acquired in a group class. This is especially important if you are interested in competing or performing.
